The talented cantors and instrumentalists of ICSJ Parish are pictured below along with a performance sample. Many of the cantors have been heard at our Wedding Music Fairs and rotate throughout our weekly parish Mass schedule.

Cantors

Alexa Ulrich

Alexa has enjoyed singing at church her whole life. She studied Theater & Dance at UC San Diego, came to Chicago in 2015, and has been at ICSJ since 2017. She loves both classic and contemporary hymns and looks forward to more opportunities to sing within this community. 

 

Michael Penick

Greg Zawada

Greg studied Voice at the University of Iowa in 2004, appearing in a number of classical concerts, operas, and musical theatre productions.  After returning to Chicago, Greg continued his performance tenure all across Chicago, appearing frequently in musicals and classical productions alike.

 

Chris MacGregor

Chris has been cantoring with the ICSJ ministry for 7 years. He enjoys singing for all occasions, filling the space with his amber low notes and connected spiritual presence to music. Chris’s style can be attributed to his Irish-Catholic upbringing mixed with a delightfully soulful take on all of your Sunday mass favorites. Chris looks forward to making your day extra special for you and your guests. Sláinte

 

Bryant Young

Bryant Young is an experienced classically-trained lyric baritone whose singing style also includes gospel, soul, and jazz influences. He can easily perform both traditional wedding music and contemporary songs.

 

Ryan Frenk

Ryan Frenk, praised as having a “voice sweet, clear, and cutting all at once” by the Houston Chronicle, feels comfortable performing in a variety of genres, from pop to opera, jazz, folk, musical theatre, and anything in between! Understanding the importance of music in creating the atmosphere, Ryan tailors performances to enhance yours and your guests’ experience.

 

Marina Brüle

Marina holds both a masters and bachelors degree in music performance. She enjoys singing in various languages such as English, Latin, Italian, Spanish, German, French, and Czech. 

 

Abigail Grosch

Abby, a talented mezzo-soprano based in Rogers Park, Chicago, holds a BA in Music with an emphasis on classical singing from Roosevelt University. Her passion for singing began in her church choir, and after a brief hiatus, she is thrilled to be singing at ICSJ. Abby's dedication to her craft and her joy in sharing music with others shines through in every performance.
